self-control/ self- discipline/ will power/ temperance/ self restraint

 

the ability to control  and direct your thoughts, feelings, behavior, speech (mental and oral),  impulses, whatever to do something or not do something:

in all times:

  • easy:
  • diffifult;
  • especially those that are painful (physically, emotionally)
the ability to force yourself to do something or restain from doing something regardless of how you feel:
the ability to deny oneself ones greatest pleasure just to prove the one that one can, that one has to willpower to do whatever he sets out to do.

stiff upper lip

a quality of remaining calm and not letting other people see what you are really feeling in a difficult or unpleasant situation

dignity

the impressive behavior of someone who controls their emotions in a difficult situation
