Marketing Manifesto for Entrepreneurs

At the request of a collegue of mine, I read a transcript of a seminar given by a Todd Bates entitled Marketing Manifesto for Entrepreneurs.  In the seminar, Todd outlines what he finds to be the seven major reasons or causes that prevent entrepreneurs and sales people from advancing to the next level.  These are (as listed in his seminar):

  1. Relying upon yourself to get to the next level;
  2. Lacking a Marketing Message;
  3. Focusing on the Sales rather than on Marketing;
  4. Selling rather than Finding a Match;
  5. Being obsessed with the product rather than how to better Market and whom to Market to;
  6. Being Outcome Oriented rather than Processed Oriented;
  7. Being a Thinker rather than a Jumper;
